Jude Cohen

Born in Jerusalem and now based in Sydney, Jude Cohen is a photographer and creative director known for capturing the emotional truth behind place.

He didn't set out to be a photographer. After moving to Australia he left school and spent nearly a decade in hospitality, working in his family's restaurants. It taught him to read atmosphere, detail and people, and that a meal is never only about flavour. The camera came later, as a travel companion, and slowly became a way of paying attention.

Over the past ten years his lens has moved from the Muay Thai camps of Thailand to the turquoise coves of Capri, the ocean pools of Bondi and the old stone streets of Jerusalem, documenting how people, light and culture shape one another.

“Jerusalem shaped the way I see, it’s where I first understood that light can carry history, that every street has layers of memory.”Jude Cohen

His photography has appeared in Australian Gourmet Traveller, The Sydney Morning Herald, Time Out and Broadsheet, and his Summer Series was exhibited at The Clare Gallery in Double Bay.

In November 2025 he published his first book, 10 Years of Photography, a 277 page hardcover designed with his sister Gal Cohen and printed in Sydney. The Standard Edition has sold out.

Alongside his own work he is the creative director of Cohen Media House, a creative studio in Sydney.
